We had only signed up for one thing, the Bunco games, it was fun and I met some nice people but both Bob and I were eliminated in early rounds and didn't stick around to see who actually got the money. We also watched some of the poker games which I think Bob would have enjoyed, maybe next year. We didn't wait in line for the metal detector coin hunt although people said it was fun the line just moved too slowly.
We looked at some of the decorated cars wearing travel bugs we could discover, my favorites
We actually ran in to people we had been caching with the week before in Kent, Fiddlemad from UK, her hubby Mick and her brother Welljointed from Renton, we also met Blooming Idiot and the Jester and well we were starting to feel like we "know people" woo hoo. We attended a couple workshops, bought raffle tickets and won a few little things. The meal was excellent if a long line it was amazing that they put on this thing for free. We tried to help support it buying the coin and Tshirt and raffle tickets. On the way home we stopped to do some local caches and Bob really enjoyed the way we would meet people either already there looking, or joining us as we looked. It was obvious what we were all doing! Bob was THE finder on a couple and he seemed to really relish being the one to make the find. I think if you ask him this might be his favorite part of the weekend. We ended up logging quite a few caches for our weekend in California and truly enjoyed them.
